DIY coffee scrub

I’m a coffee pod collector…I keep a giant gross bag of them until there’s enough to justify a trip past the florist in essendon where you can send them for recycling.

But…hooray! I’ve found another use!

I made a citrus coffee scrub this morning inspired by The Whole Daily

You could make it with any combination of essential oils depending on your preference.

1 Cup coffee grounds

1 Cup coconut oil

15 drops of various oils (I used 5 each of lemon, grapefruit and wild orange)

This could be stored in a jar or as single use cubes if you cool them in an ice cube tray in the fridge.

Let me know if you try this out!

DIY Dry Shampoo

DIY Dry Shampoo

I’ve used the chemical filled version on lazy days in the past… It’s gross. Even just the smell of it when sprayed is enough, let along the chemicals used absorbing into your scalp.
I always try these DIYs before sharing them as I’ve had a few disasters (read: shampoo going mouldy, science experiments in my fridge, exploding ferments etc)

This one is gold!

You need:

2 Tbs Arrowroot powder (light hair)

2 Tbs Cacao or cocoa (dark hair)

5 drops of essential oils of your choice (lavender is really good for hair growth, as is ylang ylang). You could put a few drops of each…mix it up and try some different ones.

Mix the powder and oil together in a jar – give it a shake before each use.

Sprinkle on your scalp and leave to absorb for a minute or two and comb/brush out.
Voila! Fake the “I just washed my hair” look!

Let me know if you give this one a go.
